For those who have visited the studio you will have seen that I have this first image on a rather large canvas display.  I love it a lot.  It's one of my all time favourite images.  I don't think anyone can pass it without commenting on how beautiful they both are.

Jolie was a complete dream to work with.  She is like a little giggling doll with the most flawless skin I have ever seen.  She popped into the studio with her beautiful sister Cartier for her first birthday cake smash!  She was a little delight and those eye's just melted my little heart!

We had the best fun!

Sofia | Newborn Photographer Edinburgh

Sofia was born on the very special Jubilee weekend.

She was a little cracker and one of the first little new babies in my brand new studio.  Her daddy had some fabulous art work on his arms so we had to get a shot of them together!
And what about those lips?!
Such a lovely family.  Thank you so much for coming in.  I can't wait for her cake smash!!

I got to visit some lovely families in Brighton when I was on a mini holiday.  I LOVE doing travel sessions and getting to meet new people!

Meet Edie!  She got to celebrate her First Birthday in the most gorgeous building!  Mum & Dad own a gorgeous pub near Brighton Pier and we got to use a beautiful room for her smash and before photographs.  She also got to have an amazing cake courtesy of Choccy Woccy DooDah
It tasted devine...

I had a great time and she loved her cake!

yum yum!!

Everyones babies all seemed to arrived at once and I loved capturing their first moments in my new studio.

Who remembers the gorgeous Eva from last year who had an utterly gorgeous first birthday tea party shoot..

She's 2 already!  And is even more gorgeous!

We had a lovely shoot on a quiet little farm, which is just on my doorstep.
I've never booked a local shoot in before and I really loved it.  It was nice to be in the country and stop to appreciate where I live before I finally move to the city.
I love the haze, the flowers, the horses.. the endless fields.

I loved it so much I am doing something I've never done before.
I am opening my diary to country sessions.

These will be limited to 1 per Sunday or Monday evenings for June & July only.

These sessions are open to any age group {except newborns} and will have lots of little surprises too.
If you would like to book a session you can email me at info@zoestewartphoto.com for all the details.

I hope you enjoy Eva's preview!

Is proud to announce that I am an official member of the BANP.
The British Association of Newborn Photographers.

It was set up by a group of fabulous ladies who work hard and promote safety in newborn photography.
It has some fantastic information for parents about newborn safety and how to choose the best photographer for you.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER
Choosing a newborn photographer should be as simple as deciding based on their images…..but we feel it is important to remember that you will be handing over your precious bundle to this person, for them to pose and soothe for the duration of the session. Therefore, it goes beyond whether they can take a good photograph. To help you choose, here are our tips:
1)  Look at the different styles of photography available, newborn photographers all differ in their posing, the amount of props they may use, the way they edit, which results in very varied images unique to each photographer.
2)  Ask how much training or experience they have had. Both are good to have, but those with plenty of experience will have learned lots along the way. Equally, newborn posing workshops are specially designed to teach photographers how to pose babies safely.
3)  Have they photographed many babies? Ideally you want a varied portfolio, with a range of poses and lots of different colours and props which shows the photographers skill level, as well their experience. Also, look and see if they have testimonials/reviews on their website or blog.
4)  When looking at their images, take a close look at how cosy and confortable the babies are. Babies should always look relaxed and at ease, and never distressed, scrunched or uncomfortable.
5)  Should you go and find the cheapest? Chances are, you will get what you pay for here. Newborn photography is an intense, time consuming labour of love for a photographer. Sessions can last many hours, and rightly so. Newborns must be treated softy, gently and with huge scoops of patience. All of this will cost money, and with the right photographer, it is worth paying for. The photographer will not simply be putting your baby on a beanbag and taking a few images. They will be expertly handling , soothing and posing your baby, and then provide you with a beautiful set of images. Everyone will have a budget but think carefully before taking the very cheapest option available.

Newborn images are some of the most precious you will have, so enjoy your photography experience knowing your photographer is a safe & experienced one.

It's been a long time.  Where have you been?

I've been BUSY!

Spending time with my family, friends and of course my wonderful clients.

I originally typed this up for my other blog but I felt it fitted in perfectly here too as a little update.
I have been getting emails and tweets asking where my blog has gone and why I haven't been posting.  To be honest, life got in the way.  I wasn't spending nearly as much time with Ruby as I wanted and I was always working til the wee hours trying to finish to make sure I could spend the days with her.

My little girl is growing into a beautiful little person.  Complete with sentences and a little bit of attitude.
Her curls are more beautiful than ever and she loves having her nails painted a pretty shade of pink.

It's safe to say, Ruby is no longer a baby.  I am all happy and sad, all at the same time.

look at how she's grown!  Those curls came from now where too!

It's been a busy old time at 'work' too.
I'm blessed with the job I do..  It's not even a job, I feel like I spend my oohing and aahing and getting the best baby cuddles.
I get SO many newborns coming to see me, cuddles, those little toes and not to mention the smiles.
Yep..  I love a newborn smile!!

Aren't these just perfect?!

There's also been a spot of charity work.  I was part of a sport relief event that mummies got sponsors to get their tummies painted.

Ruby also ran a mile, and raised a lovely £466.50!
We are so proud of her, and she walked the entire mile herself too....

I've had the honour of attending some of the most beautiful weddings, with more to come in June.

And not to mention newborn season!
Newborns have been flooding in of late, must be something in the water ;)

Not only have I met a lot of brand new families, some gorgeous little ones have been coming to visit with brand new brothers or sisters too!!

And all those newborns from last year are in celebrating with first birthday cake smashes!
I have loved watching all the little ones grow into gorgeous little people.

So, the last few months, I can say have been hectic but have been SO much fun!!  I wish I could share ALL the images with you but there are so many!  I will save them for another post :)

Amongst all the excitement I opened my very own studio too!
I cant wait until it's finished so I can share images with you guys!

So far 2012 has been totally amazing and it's only going to get better!
